Premium Flooring Range

Laminate Flooring Melbourne

TITAN 12mm Laminate flooring with HDF construction, AC4 wear rating, and realistic timber finishes for residential and commercial projects.

Choosing Laminate

What 12mm and AC4 actually mean

The TITAN range is a single specification in six colours, so the decision is not which board to buy but whether laminate is right for the room at all. Two numbers do most of the work in that judgement.

TITAN 12mm laminate specification
PropertySpecificationWhat it means for your project
12mm HDF core1215 × 238 × 12mm boardThicker than the 8mm boards sold at hardware chains — it feels more solid underfoot and bridges minor subfloor variation more forgivingly
AC4 wear ratingCommercial-grade abrasion classRated for heavy domestic and general commercial traffic — the rating most residential laminate never reaches
Pack size1.735 m² · 6 boards · 21 kgOrder area plus roughly 10% for cutting waste, more for diagonal or herringbone layouts
Edge and finishPainted micro-bevel wax, matt finishThe waxed bevel resists moisture entering at the joint, and a matt surface hides dust and foot traffic better than gloss

Rooms it suits

  • Living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms
  • Hallways and stairs, where the AC4 rating earns its keep
  • Home offices and retail fit-outs with steady foot traffic
  • Kitchens, where spills are wiped promptly rather than left standing

Where to choose something else

  • Bathrooms, laundries and anywhere subject to standing water
  • Below-ground rooms, or slabs with a known moisture problem
  • Outdoor and semi-enclosed areas such as alfresco rooms

Laminate, hybrid or EVSPC?

Laminate gives the most floor for the money in dry areas. At 12mm with an AC4 rating it outperforms most of what is sold as premium laminate, and the timber-look embossing is convincing at normal viewing distance.

Its limit is water. The HDF core is compressed wood fibre, so sustained moisture makes it swell irreversibly. If the room is a bathroom or laundry, choose hybrid instead — nothing about a laminate installation makes it waterproof.

EVSPC is the answer where you want a hard floor throughout, including wet areas, with a single consistent look and an acoustic rating suitable for apartments.

Before you install

Laminate contains natural wood fibre that expands and contracts with temperature and humidity. Leave the boxes unopened in the installation room for at least 48 hours so the planks stabilise — skipping this is the most common cause of buckling and joint separation later.

Unlike our hybrid ranges, laminate has no underlay attached. A separate acoustic underlay is required, and on a concrete slab it must include a moisture barrier.

Leave an expansion gap at every wall, doorway and fixed object, and cover it with scotia or trim rather than filling it.

The subfloor must be clean, dry and flat to the tolerance in this range's installation documentation.

Technical Composition

Anatomy of Laminate Engineering

01

WEAR LAYER

A transparent, aluminum oxide-enhanced top layer providing AC4 commercial-grade resistance to scratches, stains, fading, and impact.

02

DESIGN LAYER

A high-resolution photographic print featuring authentic wood grain, stone, or tile patterns with realistic colour depth and embossed texture registration.

03

CORE LAYER

A 12mm high-density fibreboard (HDF) core providing superior impact resistance, dimensional stability, and sound insulation for busy living spaces.

04

BACKING LAYER

A moisture-resistant backing layer that provides additional stability, balances the plank, and protects against subfloor moisture.

Stability

High-density fibreboard core remains dimensionally stable across temperature and humidity changes.

Aesthetics

High-resolution photographic layer replicates the natural look of hardwood, stone, and tile with authentic embossed textures.

Easy Maintenance

Simple to clean with regular sweeping and damp mopping — no special treatments required.

Versatile Installation

Click-lock floating floor system allows for quick installation over most existing hard surfaces.

Cost-Effective

Delivers the premium look of real timber at a significantly more affordable price point than solid hardwood.

Resilience

Scratch-resistant surface layer protects against everyday wear from pets, furniture, and foot traffic.

Available in a wide range of colours, plank sizes, and surface textures to match any interior design style.

Care & Preservation

Maintenance Guide

Laminate flooring maintenance is straightforward, requiring regular cleaning to preserve its appearance and longevity. The durable wear layer makes daily care simple and effective.

Sweep or vacuum regularly with a soft brush attachment to remove dirt and debris.

Mop with a well-wrung microfibre mop using plain warm water or a pH-neutral floor cleaner.

Place felt pads on furniture legs and avoid dragging heavy objects.

Clean up spills promptly and avoid exposing the flooring to excessive moisture.

Avoid steam mops, harsh chemicals, abrasive scrubbing tools, steel wool, or wax, as these can potentially harm the finish.
