1. Who we are
This policy explains how Square Flooring Pty Ltd (ACN 702 482 755). ABN 74 702 482 755.(“Square Flooring”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information. We manage personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
2. What we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- your name, email address and phone number;
- project details, such as a project or delivery address or postcode, the flooring you are interested in, the approximate area, your timing, whether you want installation, and any plans, photos or files you upload;
- for trade accounts, your business name, ABN and the details needed to manage the account;
- information about how you use our website, such as pages viewed, the device and browser you use, and your approximate location from your IP address;
- if you arrive from an online advertisement, the identifiers and campaign tags attached to that click (for example a Google click ID).
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you submit a quote, sample, contact or trade account form, or when you phone, email or visit us. We collect website usage information automatically through cookies and similar technologies, described in section 5.
4. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and contact you about your quote;
- prepare quotes, and arrange samples, delivery, collection and installation;
- open and manage trade accounts;
- understand how our website and advertising perform, and improve them;
- meet our legal obligations.
If you do not give us the information a form asks for, we may not be able to respond to your request.
5. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads. These use cookies and similar technologies to measure visits and to tell us whether our advertising leads to enquiries.
When you submit a quote request after clicking one of our Google ads, we may share your email address and phone number with Google so it can match the enquiry to the ad click. These details are converted into a one-way coded form (hashed) in your browser before they are sent, and Google uses them only to measure ad performance.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, and control ad personalisation in your Google account's ad settings.
6. Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed to run our business, with:
- service providers who host our website and database, store uploaded files, and send our emails;
- Google, for the analytics and advertising measurement in section 5;
- installers and delivery contractors, so they can carry out work you have asked for;
- anyone we are required or authorised by law to share it with.
We do not sell personal information.
7. Overseas storage
Some of our service providers, including Google, store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We use providers that maintain recognised security standards.
8. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, and then delete or de-identify it.
9. Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or make a complaint about how we have handled it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
