Where the extra thickness goes
EVSPC is 12mm of engineered composite, but the thickness is not the point — how it is divided is. A 2mm luxury vinyl top layer over a hollow-core SPC body with acoustic underlay pre-attached is a different proposition from a solid 12mm board.

EVSPC, hybrid or laminate?
EVSPC is the specification-led choice. Where a project has an acoustic requirement, a commercial traffic load, or a long warranty expectation, it answers all three in one product.
Hybrid covers the same waterproof territory at a lower cost per square metre, with a 0.5mm wear layer instead of 2mm. For most residential projects that is sufficient — the difference shows in commercial use and over long service life.
Laminate remains the value option for dry rooms only, and cannot be used where EVSPC's waterproofing is the reason for the choice.
Before you install
EVSPC floats on the 5G click system. It is not glued down, and the acoustic underlay is already attached — do not add a second layer beneath it.
Acclimatise the boxes flat and unopened in the room for at least 48 hours before laying.
Subfloor flatness matters more here than with a thinner board, because a rigid 12mm plank bridges hollows instead of following them. Work to the tolerance in this range's installation documentation.
Leave an expansion gap at every wall and fixed object, and keep the acoustic underlay continuous if the installation needs to satisfy a strata acoustic report.

Maintenance Guide
EVSPC needs no sealing, oiling, or specialist treatment. The waterproof core and UV wear coat mean routine sweeping and a well-wrung damp mop are enough to keep the floor looking new.
Sweep or vacuum regularly with a soft brush attachment to remove dirt and debris.
Mop with a well-wrung microfibre mop using plain warm water or a pH-neutral floor cleaner.
Place felt pads on furniture legs and avoid dragging heavy objects.
Clean up spills promptly and avoid exposing the flooring to excessive moisture.
Avoid steam mops, harsh chemicals, abrasive scrubbing tools, steel wool, or wax, as these can potentially harm the finish.
